comfort

comfort

We believe a player shouldn't feel like they are wrestling with their guitar. We've focused on several key design elements to make our guitars as comfortable as possible.

Weight

about 6 lbs.

We understand that hours of playing can take a toll on your shoulders and back, so we've engineered our instruments to be as light as possible without sacrificing durability or tone.

Starting with Jim's original specs, we thinned down the top and the body walls by an additional 1/16". Our guitars typically come in at around at +/- 6 lbs.

Arm Contour

arm contour like a Strat, but on a larger, mostly hollow body

Our tops are steam-bent to create an arm contour, providing a natural resting place for your picking arm and allowing for hours of effortless playing without fatigue.  No more sharp edges to dig in or create a pressure point at the forearm.

The result is a very natural and comfortable connection to the guitar.

Back Contour

comfortable against the body

In addition to the arm contour, we've included a contour on the back of the guitar. This gentle curve provides a comfortable fit against your body, reducing pressure points and allowing for greater freedom of movement while playing.

Balance

perfectly balanced, whether standing or sitting

We have taken great care to ensure the guitar is well-balanced with zero neck dive. The position of the strap button relative to the length of the neck; the size and placement of the bridge block; the positioning of the neck pocket relative to the body dimensions and bridge all contribute to a balanced guitar.

We've carefully distributed the weight of the guitar to ensure that it feels perfectly balanced in your hands, whether you're standing or sitting.

Size

perfectly balanced, whether standing or sitting

The S14 has a 14" body size, smaller for comfort without being too small as to be unsuitable for playing while sitting down.

We increased the depth of the body to a full 2". The additional depth provides a substantial feel without being overly bulky, contributes to balance, and  colors the tone just a bit.
